We Honor Our Veterans!
We honored our veterans at church today - thanking those present and those who have passed on for the service they gave to our country. One of our very own, Michael Dixon, an army veteran, delivered a powerful message about putting on the Whole Armor of God. Before the message there was a mention of the mantra that is upheld among those serving in the military. The Airman's Creed: “I will never leave an airman behind;" the Soldier's Creed: “I will never leave a fallen comrade;" the Marine's Creed: "We never leave a Marine behind. If you see a fellow Marine who needs help, step up and step in."
Brother Dixon spoke about the Whole Armor of God. Ephesians 6:11-18.
We are in a battle as christians. To fight this battle it is important that we go in prepared with
your loins girt about with truth,
and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
take the helmet of salvation, and
the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
We are Soldiers in the Army of the Lord! Go prepared!
