A couple of years ago I became overwhelmed with taking down my Christmas decorations....overwhelmed to the point of becoming ill.  As I reflected upon it the next year, my decorations became minimal. Focusing upon having the nicest decorations in the neighborhood made me lose sight of the true meaning of Christmas. Something was missing.

When we were children we waited with glee wondering what was under the tree for ourselves. Rather than asking my son and grandson what they wanted to "get" for Christmas, I asked them what they wanted to "give" for Christmas.  Somewhere over time our celebration as Christians became "me" centered rather than Jesus and "others" centered.  I don't worry about receiving presents anymore. Being surrounded by family and friends is MUCH more important.

For most of us with the ability to access this website, we have already become "stuffed" with stuff.  God has met our every need.  We tend to focus on the "perfect gift" for a friend or loved one, but we forget about those who do not have the means to give, or who barely have the means to live. We forget about the teachings of the One who was sent as a Gift from God.

Purpose within your heart to "see" others in need, and do all that you can to share the warmth of this season with them.  The "perfect gift" comes from within your heart and is given to those who may feel they have no hope.  Your "perfect gift" to them may cause them to wonder what is different about you, and open the opportunity to gently discuss the Love that brought you there. Then maybe you can bring that person to Christ. Don't become "stuffed" this season. Empty your bag onto others in need!

Have the JOY of this season for the REST of your life by remembering to place:

We have forgotten so many things regarding “the reason for the season”.
