Last year I had quite a few friends who lost loved ones during the year.  I heard about the concept of the "Blue Christmas" observation. Immediately I thought it was a good idea, but I did not know how it would be received.  So I hesitated.  Little did I know that I would lose my mother at three minutes after midnight —— THREE MINUTES after Christmas ended - on December 26th.  I know that it has almost been a year, and I have had a little time to adjust, but every morning as I have done for the last 25 years, I get ready to call her at 8:00 a.m.  Then I realize that she is no longer here. I wonder if others who have lost loved ones cycle through the same thoughts and feelings.

The "Blue Christmas" concept is a one-night service held on December 21st.  Our Facebook series is 25 days of 1 - 2 minute reflections.  So we call it a series of

Remembrance, Reflection and Hope.
