It gives me joy to find new nuggets within the Word of God upon which to meditate.  In today’s scripture one main word was lifted from verse 15. The believers within this gathering simply found hope and encouragement that if Peter’s shadow fell upon them, there would be healing within them.  It was as simple as that.

A shadow is a reflection of and object, person or being.   A source of light must be present for a shadow to exist.  Sometimes we look for great things, signs and wonders, major shouting, dancing and symbols in hopes that we will leave church with a good feeling.  But in the presence of the shadow of God, there is also healing, comfort and peace.

When I was just a child in elementary school, there were many trials that I endured because of bullying during the pains of desegregation. This hurt me daily to my very core. In the quiet times the Lord revealed Himself to me and just held me in His lap.  That’s where I found comfort and an everlasting love for Him -- under the shadow, the refuge of His wings. (Psalm 91:1)

Find healing in the SHADOW of His wings and in His presence. It’s all around you.
