Philipians 4th chapter is packed with an abundance of wisdom, truth and knowledge that will keep God's people encouraged and emboldened.
I am sure that you are familiar with many of them:
Philipians 4:6 admonishes us not to be anxious. 4:7 tells us that we have God's peace at our disposal. 4:8 tells us what to think upon to keep our minds focused and our spirit encouraged. 4:13 serves as a reminder of the power that works within us through Christ. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
The Word says that we "can" but the thought for this week is whether or not we have changed that to make it personal. Are you able go to the next step and say "I can and I will?" Please do not stop at can.
What are some things that we as Christians "can" do? One example may be to show the Fruit of the Spirit. I CAN show love, joy, peace, longsuffering, goodness, faith, meekeness and temperance. (Galatians 5:22). Are you able to say "I will show....." We say we CAN sing, but do we do it and more importantly do we do it to glorify God or ourselves? We CAN serve God's people using our gifts and talents, but do we practice it by replacing "CAN" with "WILL?"
The passage says that CHRIST strengthens us to do ALL things. The Word also challenges us to "faint not." (Balatians 6:9)
Use the strength and power of the Lord God has infused you with to change the "I CAN" to " I WILL."
